I've been working as a Creative Designer at MR MARVIS: a fast-growing online menswear brand that is fully dedicated to delivering the perfect shorts. In 2020, they launched The Longs (chinos) and The Easies (sweatpants), adding trousers into the mix allows them to do business across all seasons. The sustainable shorts & trousers are handmade in Portugal, the materials (fabrics, buttons, labels) are locally sourced and carefully selected on their premium qualities.
CREATIVE PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY
When I started at MR MARVIS I was asked to think about creative ways to show the products without using models. MR MARVIS' products come in a great variation of colours, which make them very suitable for colourful visual concepts. Together with in house photographer Renze Bemelmans I did multiple creative products photoshoots where I was co responsible for the concepts and art direction.
IT'S ALL IN THE NAME
MR MARVIS' Originals Shorts come in over 40 colours.
From the start, each MR MARVIS product has been given its own identity. They don’t talk about a light blue, mid blue or dark blue short, but instead about The Avenues, The Boulevards and The Midnights.
As you can see, a lot of these names were very suitable to create visual concepts around. With matching props we made colourful and fun images. The images were used on social media and email marketing.
I was asked to think of a series of 3 newsletters. Since MR MARVIS best selling colours are the natural, blue and green tones, I decided to highlight these colours with multiple products: the Original shorts, the Piqué shorts and the Swim shorts.
Together with art director Patrick Maasse I created this concept where the shorts are hung with steel wires. For the header GIFs we used props that enhance the vibe of the colours. The coloured backgrounds even out the the industrial look of the steel and give them a more summery feel.

In December 2020 MR MARVIS had it's first ever festive campaign. As before their soul products were shorts they did little to no marketing in December. Now that hey had their new trousers The Longs and The Easies there was a bigger relevance for a festive campaign. I came up with visual concepts for this campaign and was responsible for the execution of the assets.
For the photography I choose to do a studio shoot in festive vibe with a navy background and matching props. The styling was carefully chosen to match the cosiness and relaxed vibe of The Easies and the sophisticated vibe of The Longs.
STOP MOTION ANIMATION
To show that MR MARVIS products are the perfect Christmas gift, I came up with a stop motion concept, showing that MR MARVIS' unique shipping box can be easily used as a gift box.
This animation was used on social media and email marketing.
During the December month multiple newsletters were send out in the festive theme.
This is a selection of newsletters, showing our customers how to dress up for Christmas and new years eve in The Longs.
MR MARVIS does a lot of print advertisement.
So for the December month I created a print ad to match the festive theme.
I made multiple Instagram Stories in the festive theme for both organic and paid social. I was responsible for the concepts and the execution,
MR MARVIS does a lot with paid social advertisement, but before I started, organic Instagram Stories were not really used. That's why I came up with the idea to use the well thought out newsletter concepts that MR MARVIS sends out every week to create social organic animations.
MR MARVIS sends out 1 to 2 newsletters per week. I've been co responsible for coming up with these concepts and fully responsibly for executing of them. Using a mix of campaign photography, studio photography, animations and illustrations I aim to create an eye catching and striking layout every time.
